Responsible for the management of the accounts section, ensuring that delegated financial responsibilities are properly and effectively executed in support of the departments planned activities.

4. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Effective maintenance of the departments books of accounts and financial delegations.
Timely preparation of weekly expenditure statements or reports and annual financial statements on expenditure.
Effective and timely response in departmental audit investigations, including Public Accounts Committee investigations.
5. MAJOR DUTIES
Responsible for the proper administration of the accounts section
Maintain proper system of accounting and advise management on funds commitment and expenditure in compliance with the Public Finance Management Act and Financial Instructions
Prepare reports and provide recommendation on financial accounting system and ensure proper budgetary control.
Co-ordinate the preparation of the department annual Budget and the periodical budget reviews.
Liaise with the department of Planning, Treasury and Finance on budgetary and accounting matters and advise management accordingly.

6.1 WORKING RELATIONSHIP
(a) Internal
Reports to the Manager-Finance
Occasionally required to report directly to the executive Manager – Corporate Affairs & Research
Liaise with Divisional/Branch Heads on matters relating to payments of cheques and other related accounting and budgetary matters.
Liaise with department of Treasury, Planning and Finance on the public accounts sytem
Attend to Clients querying for payments.
