2. PURPOSE
Provide networking engineering support for LAN/WAN connectivity,
Advises on planning, design and implementation, and controls the installation and maintenance of ICT network infrastructure,
Contributing towards ensuring that the capacity, reliability and availability of ICT network infrastructure/services meet the requirements of the organization.

4. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Administration and Maintenance of LAN/WAN ICT Network infrastructure/services
Managing of ICT Projects
5. MAJOR DUTIES
Assembles and configures network components and associated services.
Setup and configure network connectivity for PCs, Printers, network devices and Servers
Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
Upgrades network devices and software components as required with in the budget.
Installs upgrades and configures Active Directory Services (ADS), rights and privileges.
Responds to needs and questions of users concerning their access of network resources.
Establishes network users, user environments, directories, and security for networks services.
Installs and tests necessary Hardware and Software Application.
ICT network resource management: troubleshooting using the available resources.
Provide own team with a clear direction; delegate work and motivate staff.
Project management: plan, monitor and control projects.
Organize and coordinates meetings stake holders, internet service providers and service providers.

(a) Qualifications
Graduated from an accredited technical college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (BIT)
Certification in CISCO products (preferably at CISCO (ICDN1&2) or COMPTIA N plus)
Certification in VMWare virtualization
Certificate in Project Management
Certification in MS Exchange Environment
(b) Knowledge
Thorough knowledge at expert level of LAN technologies (switches, routers, wireless and firewalls)
Advanced knowledge of large-scale LAN/WAN switching and routing implementation and operation with specific knowledge of VLAN, VPN;
Knowledge of LAN traffic management techniques;
Thorough knowledge of IT infrastructure, TCP/IP, networking and information system security principles, practices and technologies;
Understanding of core Internet routing protocols and services;
Knowledge of intrusion detection systems and intrusion prevention system technology;
(c) Skills
Leadership and management skills:demonstrated ability to lead a team, providing cleardirection, motivating staff, managing their performance appropriately and fairly, and dealing with possible conflicts.

(d) Work Experience
Experience as a Local Area Network ( LAN/WAN) engineer, these should include five years of hands-on configuration, administration and troubleshooting experience of LAN network switches, routers and firewall devices.
Experience in LAN traffic and WAN bandwidth monitoring and shaping tools.
Practical experience in information security, including vulnerability testing and security assessments.
Experience with the formulation and delivery of IT projects using Prince2 or similar methodologies, including the management of related financial and human resources.
Experience and certification in CISCO products (preferably at CISCO (ICD1&2) or COMPTIA N plus)
