2.      PURPOSE

  • Support the operational activities of the ICT Software’s and inventory of ICT assets.
  • To ensure that the level of customer service is align with the business’ requirements and provide implementation and maintenance reports to Manager – TSS and works closely with the Technical Support Services team as required.
  • To provide technical support on MS Software, Tools Application purchase and upgrades. Co-ordinate and provide assistance on inventory of ICT assets.

4.      PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Smooth Operation of Desktop, Notebook Computers, UPS, Printers(change)
  • User support with MS Software Applications, Servers,
  • Responsible for ensuring the smooth day to day running of the Telephone Extension, VoIP Application
  • Carries out fault finding and problem solving on software and VoIP issues and passes more complex faults and requests to Service Providers (Telikom, iNET, Digicel, IGIS)

5.      MAJOR DUTIES

  • Manage and Administer Fixed-Asset-Registry-Management (FARMS) Systems
  • Administer new records of newly purchase of IT Assets and provide reports
  • Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems.
  • Provides monthly reports on ICT Assets updates, status, and expenditure information to management.
  • Support and provide Board-of-Survey (BOS) and recommends for disposal of obsolete assets 

6.      NATURE AND SCOPE

Effectively manage and coordinate Department’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) assets

6.1     WORKING RELATIONSHIP

(a) Internal

  • Manager – Technical Support Services and Executive Manager – MIS

(b) External

  • Liaison with IT suppliers and vendors
  • Service Providers (Telikom, Digicel, iNet, IGIS)
  • Liaison with other government department for projects. (e.g. VoIP networking)

8.      CHALLENGES

  • To make sure ICT assets are recorded and provide information for monthly reports, budgeting, B-O-S and disposal of assets

 

9.      QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

(a) Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited technical college with Diploma or University with bachelor’s degree in Hardware Supplies or Information Technology

(b) Knowledge

  • Wide range of information and communications technology and systems
  • Good working knowledge of Operation Systems (Windows XP, 7, 8, &10,) LAN/MAN/WAN Networking.
  • Broad knowledge of general current ICT Software’s and Databases (MS Access, Oracle, FARMS System).

(c) Skills

  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Configuration, troubleshooting and installation of Database Systems (MS Access, Oracle, FARMS System).
  • Leadership, Supervision and mentoring skills
  • Purchase and Procurement

(d) Work Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years professional experience with database management
  • At least three (3) years on the similar job with ICT assets purchase, procurement, and conduct for disposal
