Designation : SNR VET CURRICULUM OFFICER - TRADE (Code- EDU25-01194)
1. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.1 Manage the formulation and development of all curriculum materials, categorized under Trade for all vocational institutions in accordance to the requirements of PNGQF/TVETQF and the National Education Policies.
1.2 Coordinate the management of all Vocational Education & Training’s on Trade Curriculum programs by guiding the Curriculum Officers in the planning and implementation of curriculum tasks and use of resources.
1.3 Manage and facilitate all research programs and to compile all draft curriculum materials for Trade courses.
1.4 Organize and conduct relevant advisory committee meetings and workshops for subjects categorized under Trade for Vocational Education & Training Curriculum Branch.
1.5 Coordinate and manage local authorities in the development of locally relevant curriculum materials in regard to subjects categorized under Trade for Vocational Education & Training Curriculum Branch.
1.6 Mentor, coach and encourage staff to achieve excellence in their work area and recommend for their training.
1.7 Manage all Curriculum Audits, Curriculum Implementation and In-Service Training for effective delivery of National Certificate programs in all VET institutions.
1.8 Perform any other duties as directed by the Assistant Secretary for VET Curriculum.
2. QUALIFICATIONS, WORK EXPERIENCES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
2.1 Qualification:
2.1.1 Relevant Bachelor Degree with Trades qualification acceptable to the Public Service.
2.1.2 Post Graduate qualification in Education is preferred.
2.2 Work Experience:
2.2.1 Five (5) or more industrial work experience and completion of apprenticeship training.
2.2.2 Successful teaching experience consisting of duties in position of increasing responsibility up to Senior Lecturer in Vocational Centre Administration for a minimum of eight (8) years.
2.2.3 Experience in Curriculum development and research is essential.
2.3 Knowledge:
2.3.1 Sound theoretical/practical knowledge of the subjects categorized under Trade.
2.3.2 Extensive knowledge of Vocational Education & Training (VET) and other industrial training schemes.
2.3.3 Sound knowledge of curriculum development for Vocational Institutions.
2.3.4 Knowledge of the government’s policies on Vocational Institutions.
2.3.5 Current trends in Vocational Education & Training (VET) curriculum development.
2.4 Skills:
2.4.1 Qualities of leadership and supervisory.
2.4.2 Organizational, adaptability and initiative skills.
2.4.3 Public Relations.
2.4.4 High level of both oral and written communication.
2.4.5 Computer literate.
