Designation : E.O SUBJECT SPECIALIST - SCHOOL BASED ASSESSMENT (UPPER PRIMARY) (Code- EDU23-01076)

Job Description / Responsibilities:

1. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.1 Use relevant policy guidelines for the development, administration and evaluation of School Based Assessment.

1.2 Coordinate the development and administration of the School Based Assessment levels.

1.3 Coordinate the School Based Assessment Programs for development, trialing, administering, analyzing the results and reviewing standardized School Based Assessment for use in respective subjects and grades at different educational levels.

1.4 Design standards monitoring tests for use in schools, and provide in-service training and advice on standards monitoring program activities and materials relevant for schools usage.

1.5 Mentor and coach staff to build their capacity and improve their efficiencies in their areas of roles and responsibilities.

1.6 Perform any other duties as directed by the Assistant Secretary for Standards & Monitoring.

1.7 Incorporate Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Principles and values of Honesty, Integrity, Accountability, Respect, Wisdom and responsibility in programs, activities and initiatives to foster positive work ethics.

2. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES

2.1 Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education - Specializing in English.

2.2 Knowledge

  • Knowledgeable in the curriculum and assessment system.
  • Knowledge in elements of sampling methodologies.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Word and Excel applications.

2.3 Skills

  • Analytical skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Communication skills, both written and oral
  • Computing Skills

2.4 Work Experience

  • Work experience in the Department of Education
  • Minimum of 5 years Teaching experience
  • Coordination of School Based Assessment activities.
  • Development of internal School Based Assessment guidelines and Assessment plan.
