Designation : CERTIFICATION OFFICER - GRADE 8 (Code- EDU23-00110)
1. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.1 Assist to administer, monitor and report on the production and distribution of Grade 8 Certificates.
1.2 Maintain and update records of used, cancelled and unused Grade 8 Certificates by retrieving outstanding unaccounted Grade 8 Certificates from Provinces from the past years.
1.3 Provide subject expertise in the area of exams and assessments, in at least one of the subjects currently examined nationally in consultation with Inspectors and Curriculum Development officers on matters relating to Grade 8 test development.
1.4 Oversee the shredding of all unused Grade 8 Certificates following the Divisional Guidelines.
1.5 Carry out any other tasks as directed by the Senior Certification Officer.
1.6 Incorporate Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Principles and values of Honesty, Integrity, Accountability, Respect, Wisdom and responsibility in programs, activities and initiatives to foster positive work ethics.
2. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND WORK EXPERIENCES
2.1.1 Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
2.2.1 Knowledgeable in the Department of Education System Schools/Institutional programs/curriculum such as Grades 8 and future directions relating to programs/curriculum and Certification in general.
2.2.2 Knowledgeable in Designing Applications such as ADOBE Photoshop and other relevant design applications.
2.2.3 Knowledgeable in development process and procedures of certificates for the Department of Education in Papua New Guinea.
2.3.1 Proven administration and planning ability of a high order.
2.3.2 High communication and public relation skills.
2.3.3 Good review and reporting skills.
2.3.4 Computer literate in Microsoft word and excel.
2.3.5 Statistical and Analytical
2.4 Work Experience
2.4.1 Extensive work experience in the Department of Education
2.4.2 Minimum of 5 years Primary Teaching experience
2.4.3 Overall coordination of activities relating to national examinations in Grade 8.
