Job Description / Responsibilities:

1. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.1 Coordinate the development of relevant Policies guidelines to govern and guide the implementation of Assessment programs at different School levels. 

1.2 Manage the development, coordination and administration of the Large Scale Assessment including Curriculum Standards Monitoring Tests at different levels of Schooling.

1.3 Coordinate the implementation of Standardized School Based Assessment including the development of internal School Based Assessment Policy guidelines. 

1.4 Develop, produce and provide guidance in the use of standards monitoring tests for use in schools, and provide in-service training and advice on standards monitoring program activities and materials relevant to schools.

1.5 Provide professional development and capacity building to subordinates on various relevant topics. 

1.6 Perform any other duties as directed by the First Assistant Secretary for Measurement Services Wing. 

1.7 Oversee the duties of the Standards & Monitoring officers and assist where necessary. 

1.8 Incorporate Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Principles and values of Honesty, Integrity, Accountability, Respect, Wisdom and responsibility in programs, activities and initiatives to foster positive work ethics.

 

2. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

2.1 Qualification

2.1.1 Bachelor’s Degree in Education. 

2.1.2 Post-Graduate qualification in Education or relevant is preferable.

2.2 Knowledge

2.2.1 Knowledgeable in the curriculum and assessment system and future directions relating to assessment, monitoring and reporting in general.

2.2.2 Knowledge in elements of sampling methodologies.

2.3 Skills

2.3.1 Management and leadership skills

2.3.2 Financial management and Budgeting skills 

2.3.3 Statistical and analytical skills

2.3.4 Interpersonal and training skills.

2.3.5 Computing and ICT skills

2.3.6 Communication skills, both written and oral

2.4 Work Experience

2.4.1 Have a minimum of five years of Teaching

2.4.2 Extensive work experience in the Department of Education 

2.4.3 Have experience in curriculum development activities.

2.4.4 Have been involved in Assessment and Examination design or implementation.

2.4.5 Overall coordination of large scale educational assessment activities.
