1. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.1 Assist to supervise and report on the progress of the implemented Projects and consistent with the elements of development projects and accountability framework Division, DoE and in the country.
1.2 Assist to supervise and report on the appraisal and performance of subordinates and others officers to ensure the accountability of projects in the process.
1.3 Assist to monitor and report on essential data required by the Secretary for the effective and efficient management of the system.
1.4 Develop and maintain effective relationship with Divisional Officers and others.
1.5 Manage effectively the operational resources provided to ensure effective service delivery.
1.6 Support the development and implementation of government policies and initiatives including the promotion of public education within the broad community.
1.7 Engage in focused and collaborative research activities that lead to improve projects practice and outcomes for DoE in the country.
2. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
2.1 Qualifications:
2.1.1 Bachelors’ Degree in Education.
2.1.2 A postgraduate qualification is desirable.
2.2 Experience:
2.2.1 8 or more years’ experience in teaching and school administration at the National School of Excellence with demonstrated high level skills in managing a complex organization and proven in leadership adaptability, initiative and innovation.
2.3 Knowledge:
2.3.1 Understanding of the factors influencing the management and performance of schools and student.
2.3.2 Knowledge of the Operational of Education operations and the needs of NSoE.
2.3.3 Sound understanding of Government priorities for NSoE.
2.3.4 Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of effective supervision and monitoring.
2.3.5 Sound knowledge of report writing and write up of project proposals.
2.3.6 Sound knowledge of past and current Education System and Reform.
2.3.7 Understanding of Education Act and TSC Act.
2.4 Skills:
2.4.1 Demonstrated high- level skills in the management of a complex organization, especially school governance.
2.4.2 High level strategic, educational and operational leadership to ensure improved school and student outcomes.
2.4.3 Strong interpersonal skills.
2.4.4 Proven ability to communicate, both oral and written, with all levels of the education community, committal and capacity to implement government policies.
2.4.5 Reporting, analytical and research skills.
