1. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.1 Responsible to Director Teacher Professional Development through Senior Course Liaison Officer and Teacher Career Planning Officer to liaise closely in the dissemination of appropriate and accurate in-country course information to clients.
1.2 Assist in the calculation, processing and payment of various allowances for officers on approved study or officers on approved travels attending workshops, conferences, symposiums, etc.
1.3 Maintain good liaison and communication with educational institutions, universities, other tertiary institutions and training providers and their authorities’ in-country for the purposes of expediency, information on their course programs and other related course liaison matters.
1.4 Implement administration procedures related to professional development of officers on various in-country programs.
1.5 Consult and liaise closely with Teacher Development Officers, Government and Non-Government agencies, in-country institutions and related bodies to effectively manage administration of in-country programs.
1.6 Liaise with all agencies involved with Overseas Scholarships, Seminars, Workshops, Conferences, etc.
1.7 Assist Course Liaison Officer - Registration to maintain staff development files/database on each teacher recording educational qualifications, training needs, in-service programs undertaken, interviews attended, etc.
1.8 Assist with the development of selection criteria and coordinate and monitor selection procedures for various vacation or special courses.
1.9 Assist in the identification of suitable training programs offered overseas which are specific to individual training needs.
1.10 Assist in the identification and review of policies and practices which need to be attuned with DoE and NES training needs for growth to eventuate.
1.11 Incorporate Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Principles and values of Honesty, Integrity, Accountability, Respect, Wisdom and responsibility in programs, activities and initiatives to foster positive work ethics.
2. QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:
2.1 Qualification:
2.1.1 Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
2.2 Experience:
2.2.1 Relevant experience and exposure to all requirements of course liaison work.
2.2.2 Teaching and training experiences with exposure to staff development & in-service work.
2.2.3 Relevant experiences in public relations and conflict resolutions.
2.2.4 Knowledge and wide experience in education, preferably experience in professional development and in-service training activities.
2.2.5 Computer literacy essential.
2.3 Knowledge:
2.3.1 Relevant knowledge of human resource development and management and its related policies, practices and Acts.
2.3.2 Knowledge of Government instructions, legislation, policies and regulations on HRD matters including PSGO and DoE and TSC Acts.
2.3.3 Thorough knowledge of various courses offered in-country and their selection procedures
2.3.4 Relevant and wide knowledge of staff development work and its related activities.
2.4 Skills:
2.4.1 Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
2.4.2 Sound analytical ability to assess problem areas and implement improvements
2.4.3 Ready and willing to accept accountability
2.4.4 Ability to organize resources to achieve objectives
2.4.5 Report Writing and Correspondence Writing Skills
2.4.6 Excellent Public Relations and conflict resolution skills including counseling skills.
