1. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.1. Assist in implementing and supporting the operations of server and storage systems and services.
1.2. Assist users that get services from the server and storage infrastructure with issues.
1.3. Assist in conducting tests and/or experiments on technologies before recommending them for implementation.
1.4. Assist server and storage users with access to relevant server services where required.
1.5. Carry out other duties consistent with the above.
1.6. Incorporate Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Principles and values of Honesty, Integrity, Accountability, Respect, Wisdom, and Responsibility in programs, activities, and initiatives to foster positive work ethics.
2. QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
2.1. Qualification:
2.1.1. Grade 12 level of education.
2.1.2. Diploma in Information Communication & Technology or higher or show tertiary ability and experience to perform on the job.
2.1.3. Relevant qualification in Server, Storage, Cloud technology, and security.
2.1.4. Relevant qualification in Server infrastructure and system designing, technologies, plus successful completion of industry-based courses in Windows server administration and management, Linux, and other server platform qualifications.
2.1.5. Preferably a member of a recognized Information Technology body, which may be acceptable to the Public Service is desired.
2.2. Knowledge:
2.2.1. Have up-to-date knowledge of relevant information and standards in the Information and Communication Technology industry.
2.2.2. Ability to research solutions and document procedures.
2.3. Skills:
2.3.1. Must have good information and communication technology skills and able to work with minimum supervision.
2.3.2. Maintain existing server, storage, and security infrastructure in line with specifications using best practices and current technology platforms.
2.3.3. Implement new server and storage infrastructure and systems in line with specifications using best practices and current technologies and platforms.
2.3.4. Essential skills in Storage, Server systems in a large organization.
2.4. Experience:
2.4.1. Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar environment of Information and Communication Technology.
2.4.2. Implementing, managing, and administering server and storage services as an Information Technology professional.
