Designation : ASSISTANT SECRETARY SCHOOL REGISTRATION (Code- EDU25-01124)

Job Description / Responsibilities:

1. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1.1 Monitor the registration process of both System Schools and Permitted Schools in the country and seek NEBs approval through the office of the Secretary for Education. .

1.2 Implement NEP 2020 – 2029 and UBE policy to achieve Education for all Goals (EFO) by ensuring students are taught in schools that are approved by the Education Department to teach and implement the nation curriculum. 

1.3 Constantly liaise with Provincial Education Authorities, BOM of Permitted Schools, and other appropriate Agencies on matters regarding school registration.

1.4 Maintain and update accurate raw or baseline data for all the registered schools in the country and submit reports accordingly. 

1.5 Monitor the School Registration applications and direct schools on the process of applying for school registration through the committee and IMG for deliberation. 

1.6 Prepare and compile monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual reports, briefs and other related documentation regarding School Registrations, as may be required for the Department.

1.7 Conduct school audit in Provinces to ensure that school establishment is consistent with National Records. 

1.8 Assist with Master Position Register updates in the Province. 

1.9 Carry out other duties as directed, consistent with above.

 

2. QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS REQUIRED:

2.1 Qualification:

2.1.1 Bachelor of Education Degree or other relevant tertiary qualification.

2.2 Experience:

2.2.1 5-10 years proven teaching in a supervisory level with experience in administration.

2.3 Knowledge 

2.3.1 Understanding of the factors influencing the management and performance of schools and student.

2.3.2 Knowledge of the Operational of Education operations and the needs of NSoE.  

2.3.3 Sound understanding of Government priorities for NSoE. 

2.3.4 Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of effective supervision and monitoring.

2.3.5 Sound knowledge of report writing and write up of project proposals.

2.3.6 Sound knowledge of past and current Education System and Reform.

2.3.7 Understanding of Education Act and TSC Act. 

2.4 Skills:

2.4.1 Effective oral and written communication skills

2.4.2 Leadership and Management skills

2.4.3 Administrative & Planning skills

2.4.4 Interpersonal skills

2.4.5 Computer literate

2.4.6 Team Player
