1. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.1. Assist in implementing and supporting the operations of Server and Storage infrastructure and security systems and services in a school.
1.2. Assist schools on Server and Storage and other ICT infrastructure issues.
1.3. Assist to conduct tests and/or experiments with technologies before recommending them for implementation.
1.4. Assist server and storage account users with access to relevant network services where required.
1.5. Carry out other duties, consistent with the above.
1.6. Incorporate Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Principles and values of Honesty, Integrity, Accountability, Respect, Wisdom, and Responsibility in programs, activities, and initiatives to foster positive work ethics.
2. QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
2.1.1. Grade 12 level of education.
2.1.2. Diploma in Information Communication & Technology or higher or show tertiary ability and experience to perform on the job.
2.1.3. Relevant qualification in Server, Storage, Cloud technology, and security.
2.1.4. Relevant qualification in Server and Storage Infrastructure technologies plus successful completion of industry-based courses in Windows server administration and other server platform qualifications.
2.1.5. Preferably a member of a recognized Information Technology body, which may be acceptable to the Public Service is desired.
2.2.1. Have up-to-date knowledge of relevant information and standards of the Information and Communication Technology industry.
2.2.2. Relevant knowledge, information, and standards of the Information and Communication Technology industry.
2.2.3. Ability to research solutions and document procedures.
2.3.1. Must have good information and communication technology skills and be able to work with minimum supervision.
2.3.2. Implement new Server and Storage infrastructure in line with specifications using best practices and current technologies platforms to support school settings.
2.3.3. Maintain existing server and Storage infrastructure and systems in line with specifications using best practice and current technologies and platforms.
2.3.4. Essential skills in Server and Storage systems in a learning institution.
2.4.1. Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar environment of Information and Communication Technology.
2.4.2. Implementing, administering, and managing Server and Storage services in a school setting as an Information Technology professional.
