Job Description / Responsibilities:


1.1. Assist by providing leadership to all FODE schools/centres in the provinces to maintain high standard of  education delivery

1.2. Assist to Lead & monitor equipment and facilities used for projects and programs implementation in the Provinces and ensure are maintained at an optimal standard for a conducive learning environment.

1.3. Assist to liaise with Provincial Education Authorities, statutory bodies and non-governmental organizations on matters pertaining to Flexible Open and Distance Education. 

1.4. Assist to and oversee all Regional Coordinators through planning and school/centre visits to the regions  

1.5. Assist to lead in assessing accurate statistical data with mandatory reports on FODE education issues and initiatives for the department to assist through resources needed by the schools/centres.

1.6. Provide guidance and proper coordination on student selections into FODE schools/centres including students selected into the system schools.

1.7. Assist to provide advice to FODE Governing Councils on FODE issues for discussion and deliberations

1.8. Assist to provide administrative support to the Province on projects or activities undertaken by FODE schools/centres to ensure successful completion of projects is within the budget and allocated timeframe 

1.9. Assist to provide proper coordination and supervision on FODE AID grant programs to ensure all are set out well to support the regions.


2.1. Qualification:

2.1.1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or relevant equivalent qualification is an advantage

2.1.2.  Postgraduate qualification in Business Management (MBA) is preferred

2.1.3. Bachelor’s Degree in Education is desirable 

2.2. Knowledge:

2.2.1. Minimum of 5 years work experience in a supervisory position in FODE schools/centres

2.2.2. Extensive experience in education administration is relevant.

2.2.3. Minimum teaching experience of 5 years in any system schools is preferable. 

2.2.4. Sound knowledge on Teaching Services and Education Act, Education School Administration System, Divisional policies and procedures.

2.2.5. Knowledgeable on the Education System.

2.3. Skills:

2.3.1. Proven leadership, administrative, supervisory, organizational and management skills.

2.3.2.  Ability to plan, monitor and evaluate priority tasks or activities.

2.3.3. Ability to analyze, evaluate and make appropriate decisions.

2.3.4. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

2.3.5. Computer literate 

2.3.6. Experience in  budget planning

2.3.7. Experience in report writing

2.4. Work Experience:

2.4.1. Minimum of 5 years teaching and education administration experience 

2.4.2. Extensive experience in education programming and planning at National, Provincial or District level 

2.4.3. Minimum of 5 years work experience in a supervisory position in FODE schools/centres

2.4.4. Teaching experiences in any system school is preferable
