Job Description / Responsibilities:

1. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.1 Verify teachers' salary claims by checking against salary files for centralized provinces

before submitting to Supervisor for approval.

1.2 Check all salary-related input forms and HR information for salary and allowance

variations, leave variations, deductions, resumption leave reversals, allocation of occupants

to positions for teachers in both centralized and decentralized provinces before entering

into Alesco HRM system after being authorized by the Supervisor.

1.3 Promptly process payments for teachers ceasing employment by processing and inputting

salary information into Alesco HR System.

1.4 Attend promptly to salary related enquiries or correspondence referred by immediate

Supervisor by investigating the claims, resolving the issues or providing reliable advice.

1.5 Incorporate Gender Equity and Social Inclusion principles and values of honesty,

accountability, respect, wisdom and responsibility in programs, activities and initiatives to

foster positive work ethics.

2. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

2.1 Qualifications

2.1.1 Minimum of Grade twelve (12) Education with Diploma in Human Resource or possession of

other Diploma qualification acceptable to the Department. Further qualification in

computerized payroll audit is preferable.

2.2 Knowledge

2.2.1 Extensive knowledge of the functionality of the Alesco HRM system.

2.2.2 Broad knowledge of teachers’ Salary Determinations or terms and conditions of employment.

2.2.3 Knowledge of the relevant sections of the PSGO relating to salaries and entitlements of

administrative staff in provincial and head office.

2.2.4 Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of effective payroll audit and quality assurance.

2.4 Work Experience

2.4.1 Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in conducting computerized quality assurance and payroll

audit or other relevant experience.
