1. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.1 Verify teachers' salary related claims by checking the claims against teachers' professional salary files for NCD before rejecting the claims or submit to HROD Division for approval.
1.2 Check all salary-related input forms and HR information for salary and allowance variations, leave variations, deductions, resumption leave reversals, allocation of occupants to positions for teachers in both NCD for accuracy and completeness before forwarding to HROD Division for entering into Alesco HRM system after being authorized by the Team Leader for Team Four at HROD Division.
1.3 Promptly process quires for teachers ceasing employment with the department by timely forwarding salary information to HROD Division for processing.
1.4 Attend promptly to salary related enquiries or correspondence referred teachers by investigating the claims, resolving the issues or providing reliable advice.
1.5 Contribute to no backlog of quires affecting teacher’s salaries by effectively prioritizing and auctioning tasks immediately within the payroll cycle.
1.6 Incorporate Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Principles and Values of Honesty, Integrity, Accountability, Respect, Wisdom and Responsibility in programs, activities and initiatives to foster positive work ethics.
2. QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
2.1.1 Degree in Human Resource Management or Business Management in Accounting
2.1.2 Tertiary qualifications in IT
2.2.1 1-2 years HR or salary understanding experience in a large organization. Experience in using Alesco or other computerized HRMIS is highly desirable.
2.3.1 Sound knowledge of relevant sections of Teaching Service Act.
2.3.2 Thorough understanding of teachers’ salary determinations or terms and conditions of employment.
2.3.3 Knowledge of TSC policies on teachers’ salary entitlements and administration.
2.3.4 Knowledge of administrative roles of respective PDoE.
2.3.5 Sound knowledge of Alesco system.
2.4.1 Sound level of communication skills, both oral and written
2.4.2 Sound analytical ability to assess issues and provide guidance in work area.
2.4.3 Ability to meet set deadlines and designated priorities in completing tasks.
2.4.4 Ability to deal courteously with teachers and officers in DoE.
2.4.5 Ability to take initiatives in the work area.
2.4.6 Computer literate in Word and Excel.
