Job Description / Responsibilities:

1. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1.1 Receive and analyse monthly returns from within the Education systems, design ways of preparing and disseminating statistical information. 

1.2 Monitor trends in staff levels and check those against staff ceilings. Monitor trends in staff and student’s attendance and prepare reports on these matters.

1.3 Liaise with the budget officer on the divisional annual draft budget estimates (both recurrent and capital) and test them for internal consistency and policy objectives.

1.4 Develop provincial inventory containing school and population data, physical resource and others related to the educational development of the province and update this annually.

1.5 Act as Executive Officer of the NCD Education Board Planning committee and ensure that NCD authorities and church agencies work together in all Education planning matters.

1.6 Incorporate Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Principles and Values of Honesty, Integrity, Accountability, Respect, Wisdom and Responsibility in programs, activities and initiatives to foster positive work ethics.

 

2. QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS

2.1 Qualifications:

2.1.1 University Degree in Education or Public Administration from a recognised institution 

2.2 Experience:

2.2.1 5 – 8 years of teaching experience with administrative and management work experience and other appropriate education related work as may be acceptable to TSC and the Education Department.

2.3 Knowledge:

2.3.1 TSC Act

2.3.2 Public Finance Management Act

2.4 Skills: 

2.4.1 Proven leadership, communication, administration, supervisory, organisational and management skills.
