1. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.1 Ensure qualified staff is recruited to work by making sure that the appointment procedures are followed and appointments are based on merits.
1.2 Ensure the completion of services selection process to ensure accurate selection in timely manner.
1.3 Ensure travel arrangement for staff travelling for Workshops are promptly completed to allow them in time for commencement of the year.
1.4 Ensure informed decisions are made by AS –General Education Services attending the GES meetings and providing reliable and accurate advice on issues for discussion.
1.5 Submit to AS- General Education Services the budget requirements for efficient operation of the Divisional branch activities and report on expenditures at Head office.
1.6 Provide oversight for any project activities undertaken by Schools and student’s sections to ensure successful completion of the projects within budget and time to contribute to improve student learning environment.
1.7 Take responsibility for the achievement of activities of the branch by providing regular feedback and guidance to staff, hold regular meetings and review outcomes of activities.
2. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
2.1 Qualifications
2.1.1 Bachelor of Education In-service Degree (Administration)
2.1.2 Masters of Educational Leadership and Administration at Secondary level is desirable.
2.2 Work Experience
2.2.1 5-10 years’ experience in a supervisory position (i.e. Deputy Principal / Principal) at secondary school level with extensive experience in education administration.
2.3 Knowledge
2.3.1 Familiar with the TSC and Education Acts and current Education Reform.
2.3.2 Sound knowledge of the Public Service General Orders.
2.3.3 Sound knowledge of school registration process and procedures.
2.3.4 Aware of TSC Schools Structure Charts.
2.3.5 Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of effective management and leadership.
2.3.6 Sound knowledge of report writing and development of project proposals.
2.4 Skills
2.4.1 Manages tasks using planning and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
2.4.2 Provide effective supervision, project planning and management skills.
2.4.3 Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
2.4.5 Ability to interact with officers at different levels of the organization.
