1. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.1 Provide quality support to the Executive (TMT) in all meetings convened.
1.2 Prepare agenda and folders which should contain signed meeting minutes of the previous meeting together with decision matrices.
1.3 Folders must reach TMT 2-3 working days prior to the meeting.
1.4 Coordinate the preparation of policy papers including for TMT submission. Maintain an accurate and up to date record of all submission and decisions.
1.5 Maintain an up to date filing system of all TMT background papers, minutes and decisions.
1.6 Record minutes of TMT meeting accurately and professionally presented.
1.7 Maintain a record of decisions and provide a quarterly progressive report.
1.8 Communicate the resolutions/decisions to the affected agencies and authorities.
1.9 Assist to carry out tasks related to policy development and support when required to SSM, SEOC.
1.10 Incorporate Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Principles and values of Honesty, Integrity, Accountability, Respect, Wisdom and Responsibility in programs, activities and initiatives to foster positive work ethics.
2. QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
2.1 Qualification
2.1.1 Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Policy Management or relevant tertiary or post graduate qualification in Education Policy.
2.1.2 Planning or management is highly preferred.
2.2 Knowledge
2.2.1 Extensive knowledge of the PNG education system, education legislation, government policies, and the process of education reform is essential.
2.3 Skills
2.3.1 High level of communication both oral and written
2.3.2 Telephone skills
2.3.3 Sound analytical ability to assess issues and provide advise
2.3.4 Computer literate in Microsoft word and excel.
2.3.5 Ability to work with minimum supervision
2.3.6 Research and Evaluation skills
2.3.7 Report Writing skill
2.4 Work Experience
2.4.1 Minimum of four-eight years teaching and education administration experience is desirable.
2.4.2 Proven experience of education policy and research development at national, provincial and district level is an advantage.
2.4.3 Previous experience in similar work environment is essential.
