1. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.1. Co-lead or assist in organizing and designing new innovations to improve and advance standards and quality for Inclusive Education Curriculum for the Division.
1.2. Assist in providing in-service trainings at the national and sub-national levels on inclusive education curriculum practices to align to the national curriculum for the school system.
1.3. Co-lead or assist in researching and prepare submissions to SSM and TMT on current models on alternative age-appropriate teaching and learning pedagogies for children with disabilities or specific learning needs in the IERCs and regular schools in the school system.
1.4. co-lead or assist in planning and conducting special / inclusive education curriculum workshops for in-service teachers and regional coordinators to produce qualified and competent teachers to teach in the schools to promote inclusion for all
1.5. Co-lead or assist in reviewing, developing and implementation of Inclusive Education Curriculum policies and guidelines
1.6. Co-lead or assist in preparing the annual management plan for the Curriculum & Inspections section and report on the progress of recurrent curriculum activities.
1.7. Assist Senior Coordinator Curriculum & Inspections to provide quarterly Inclusive Education Curriculum Work Plans to Assistant Secretary Inclusive Education.
1.8. Prepare and submit annual management plan for the Curriculum activities and report on the progress on completion & non-completion of Inclusive Education recurrent activities; and report to the Senior Coordinator Curriculum & Inspections Inclusive Education.
1.9. Assist Senior Coordinator Curriculum & Inspections Inclusive Education to guide curriculum writers on quality Inclusive Education curriculum delivery programs throughout the system schools through National Teacher Education Board of Studies (CSNI, PNGEI)
2. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
2.1. Qualification:
2.1.1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education is required
2.1.2.Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education is preferable
2.1.3.Post Graduate Degree in Education is relevant
2.2. Knowledge:
2.2.1. Thorough knowledge of Curriculum Design, Development, Assessment and Evaluation
2.2.12. Knowledgeable with inclusive education curriculums and procedures
2.2.2. Knowledgeable to implement Inclusive Education and designing programs, conducting research on curriculum related field
2.2.3. Course development for teachers’ colleges.
2.2.4. Acquainted with the national curriculum of the education system for the schools.
2.2.5. Different disability models, disabilities or specific learning needs.
2.2.6. Knowledgeable on Public Service General Order 14, Public Finance Management Act, TSC and DoE Acts
2.3. Skills:
2.3.1. Leadership in any organization or Institution
2.3.2. Excellent verbal and written communication both oral and written
2.3.3. Computer literate in both MS word and Excel or MS Office applications.
2.3.4. High level of research skills, conduct and present findings (for example, into pressing issues that affect curriculum and content quality learning in schools for children with disabilities and specific learning needs.
2.3.5. Excellent inter-personal skills
2.3.6. Must have high level research skills to conduct and present findings (for example, into pressing issues that affect curriculum and content quality of learning) in schools and CSNI.
2.3.7. Must be able to lead and develop successful team building within IERCs and CSNI on matters relating to Inclusive Education curriculum and courses at CSNI.
2.3.8. Positive and mutual working relationships with other teaching Divisions on inclusive education curriculum for IERCs and course for CSNI.
2.4. Work Experience:
2.4.1. Work experience being part of an inclusive education curriculum writing or with Curriculum Development Division
2.4.2. Minimum of 7 - 10 years’ work experiences in Inclusive Education at senior staff level either as Head of Strand or Senior lecturer of a PTC, CSNI or PNGEI or Principal, Program coordinator of an Inclusive Education Resource Centre.
2.4.3. Inclusive Education Curriculum, office organization and management.
2.4.4. Other work experience in teaching special need schools is advantageous
