1. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.1 Ensure to recommend the most effective training method/strategy, including E-learning and virtual Classroom training in the provinces.
1.2 Support Provincial school personnel in assessing, understanding and responding to students’ social-emotional-behavioral developmental needs.
1.3 Develop and enhance Department partnerships with provinces to identified and varying needs of students and the schools.
1.4 Ensure copies of teacher’s order of preference forms are placed in the teachers professional files for future reference.
1.5 Prepare statistics, regular reports on the progress of the Vacancy Gazette and the central sorting activities to produce the Appointment Gazette.
1.6 File accurately all official documents and correspondence on appointments for ease of reference to deal with appeals and other issues pertaining to appointments.
1.7 Ensure proper transfer of provincial institutions and teachers to national institutions and national to provincial level.
1.8 Take initiative to provide relief arrangement in the work area to ensure continuous delivery of services to teachers.
1.9 Incorporate Gender Equity and Social Inclusion principles and values of honesty, accountability, respect, wisdom and responsibility in programs, activities and initiatives to foster positive work ethics.
2. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
2.1 Qualification:
2.1.1 Grade 12 level of education
2.1.2 Bachelor’s Degree in Education
2.2 Knowledge
2.2.1 Extensive knowledge of the PNG education system, education legislation, government policies, and the process of education reform is essential.
2.3 Skills
2.3.1 Must be computer literate
2.3.2 Excellent communication skills both oral and written
2.3.3 Must be able to work as part of a team and leading a team to achieve outcomes.
2.3.4 Analytical skills to assess issues affecting work and be able to propose improvements.
2.3.5 Ability to interact with officers at various levels of the organization.
2.4 Work Experience
2.4.1 3-5 years teaching experience as a teacher at primary or secondary school levels.
