Designation : INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS OFFICER (Code- EDU23-00627)

Job Description / Responsibilities:

1. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.1. Assist and ensure the charge documents to be issued by supervisors are prepared promptly by completing the charge form and submitting to charging officer.

1.1. Assist and ensure prompt conduct of investigation to collect any missing information from reports submitted by supervisors by liaising with the supervising, interviewing offender (if required), and documents.

1.1. Assist and ensure discipline meetings are convened promptly for committees to deal with responses from offenders by arranging meeting times, take minutes of meetings, and facilitate implementation of committee decisions.

1.1. Assist and ensure strict compliance to the requirements of Disciplinary policy and the General Order by providing advice to DoE officers and Disciplinary Committee.

1.1. Advice and report to the Senior Industrial Relations officer and the senior management on industrial relation matters. 

1.1. Incorporate Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Principles and values of Honesty, Integrity, Accountability, Respect, Wisdom and Responsibility in programs, Activities and initiatives to foster positive work ethics.

2. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, WORK EXPERIENCES

2.1. Qualifications

2.1.1. Relevant Degree qualification in Education or Arts or Administration. 

2.2. Knowledge

2.2.1. Sound knowledge of the Disciplinary procedures in Public Service General Order and Disciplinary policy.

2.2.1. Excellent level of communication, both oral and written.

2.2.1. Researching and report writing skills

2.2.1. Analytical ability to assess issues/problems and provide relevant advice.

2.2.1. Ability to communicate with officers at all levels of the department.

2.2.1. High level interpersonal skills.                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

2.3. Skills

2.3.1. Manage tasks using planning and organization skills to meet deadlines.

2.3.1. Ability to investigate, analyze issues and provide accurate advice.

2.3.1. Interview skills.

2.3.1. Ability to interact with officers at different levels of the organization.

2.3.1. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

2.3.1. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

2.3.1. Computer literate, especially in Microsoft Application – Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.                                                                                                                                                                                                             

2.4. Work Experience

2.4.1. 4-8 years’ experience in similar role or in human resource area.
