1.PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.1 Provide educational leadership for schools and principals/head teachers by ensuring that schools and student performance are high, constantly improving, and address teachers’ professional needs, student and community needs.
1.2 Supervise and report on the performance of schools, consistent with the elements of development and accountability framework for public schools in the province.
1.3 Supervise and report on the appraisal and performance of teachers in the province ensuring the accountability of school heads in the process.
1.4 Monitor and report on essential data required by the Secretary for the effective and efficient management of the system.
1.5 Develop and maintain effective relationship with Schools Inspectors, teachers, school communities and other education stakeholders.
1.6 Manage effectively the operational resources provided to ensure effective service delivery.
1.7 Support the development and implementation of government policies and initiatives including the promotion of public education within the broad community.
1.8 Engage collaborative research activities that lead to improved educational practice and outcomes for schools and the province.
1.9 Supervise, Monitor and Audit schools implementation of school grants including TFF, donor funds and other school related funds.
1.10 Ensure that schools apply the management strategy of the School Learning Improvement Plan (SLIP) after weaknesses / discrepancies are identified through the National Quality School Standards Framework (NQSSF) / National Approach to School Standard Assessment (NASSA).
1.11 Incorporate Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Principles and values of Honesty, Integrity, Accountability, Respect, Wisdom and responsibility in programs, activities and initiatives to foster positive work ethics.
2.QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
2.1 Qualification:
2.1.1 The minimum entry requirement for this position is a Bachelor degree or higher;
2.1.2 Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Teaching or relevant.
2.1.3 Post graduate or Master’s degree Education Leadership or related field is preferable.
2.2 Knowledge:
2.2.1 Sound knowledge of National and Provincial educational policies.
2.2.2 Sound knowledge of Public Service and Finance Management Act, the Education Act and the Teaching Services Act and other legislation as it applies to schooling.
2.3 Skills:
2.3.1 Effective communication skills; both oral & written

2.4.1 8 – 15 years’ teaching background.
