Designation : QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER - PRIMARY (Code- EDU23-00633)

Job Description / Responsibilities:

1. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.1 Assist in ensuring all payroll information is correct before the fortnightly payroll is released.

1.2 Conduct quality assurance and payroll audit checks.

1.3 Check information on new employees and positions created and ensure accurate calculation and bank accounts is correctly credited and payment is done correctly into the system.

1.4 Ensure accurate input of HR and payroll information into Alesco system is monitored accurately.

1.5 Investigate and correct input errors detected in Alesco HRM system through payroll audit and quality assurance process.

1.6 Ensure correct salary allocations against payroll vote codes is analyze on salary allocations for each province and divisions in head office against vote codes in Alesco.

1.7 Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure accurate calculations of termination payments to employees is completed.

1.8 Complete all correspondence within agreed time frame.

1.9 Incorporate Gender Equity and Social Inclusion principles and values of honesty, accountability, respect, wisdom and responsibility in programs, activities and initiatives to foster positive work ethics.

2. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

2.1 Qualifications

2.1.1 Minimum of Grade twelve (12) Education with Diploma in Human Resource or possession of other Diploma qualification acceptable to the Department. Further qualification in computerized payroll audit is preferable.

2.2 Knowledge

2.2.1 Extensive knowledge of the functionality of the Alesco HRM system.

2.2.2 Broad knowledge of teachers’ Salary Determinations or terms and conditions of employment.

2.2.3 Knowledge of the relevant sections of the PSGO relating to salaries and entitlements of administrative staff in provincial and head office.

2.2.4 Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of effective payroll audit and quality assurance.

2.4 Work Experience

2.4.1 Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in conducting computerized quality assurance and payroll audit or other relevant experience.
