Designation : LEAVE MANAGEMENT OFFICER (Code- EDU23-00703)

Job Description / Responsibilities:

1. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.1. Assist in managing leave fares for public servants and non-citizen contract officers.

1.2. Assist in monitoring all types of leave through the MyLeave Management System Application.

1.3. Assist in managing all different types of leave (compassionate, sick, maternity, recreational, paternity, LWOP, etc.) for DoE officers.

1.4. Assist in ensuring that there is an efficient file management storage and retrieval system for the divisional administration reports and documents.

1.5. Respond to management/staff queries on Leave Fares by providing accurate and relevant advice.

1.6. Advice and report to the Senior Leave Management Officer on leave-related matters.

1.7. Improve staff performance by providing regular feedback on work performance and building staff morale.

1.8. Maintain work performance in the branch or division by identifying priorities and work volume and delegate responsibilities accordingly.

2. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, WORK EXPERIENCES

2.1. Qualifications

2.1.1. Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Education, Administration, or HR is preferable.

2.2. Knowledge

2.2.1. Sound knowledge of the principles of Office Administration and Management.

2.2.2. Knowledge of the sections of the General Order dealing with Office Administration and Management.

2.2.3. Knowledge of the Employment Act.

2.2.4. Ability to take initiatives in the work area.

2.2.5. Computer literate, especially in Microsoft applications.

2.3. Skills

2.3.1. Ability to manage activities using planning and organization skills to meet deadlines.

2.3.2. Demonstrated experience in one or more areas of expertise relating to administration and management.

2.3.3. Ability to interact with officers both inside and outside of the department.

2.3.4. Ability to lead and build a successful team.

2.3.5. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

2.4. Work Experience

2.4.1. 1-2 years of relevant experience in clerical and administration roles.
