1. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.1 Oversee and assist the VET Provincial Inspections and the VET National Inspectors in the supervision of teaching of subject/trade areas in the relevant inspectorate {i.e. Business Studies and Allied Trades}.
1.2 Pay regular advisory visits to all VET Institutions in the Province.
1.3 Advise the teachers on the efficient methods of teaching, including design/layout, safety and administration of workshops, laboratories classrooms and simulators.
1.4 Write reports on teaching and administration efficiency of the professional staff in Vocational Centers, Technical High Schools and Community Colleges as required by the Education Act and the Teaching Service Act in terms of functional efficiency.
1.5 Promote sound educational ideas and organize seminars, refresher courses, and other means of professional development of VET teachers.
1.6 Assist and advise appropriate trade areas in VET Inspection development in close liaison with VET Curriculum & Assessment Officers.
1.7 Maintain and develop teachers’ rating and recording procedures designed in regard to teachers’ behavior, which facilitates the attainment of educational goals within VET Institutions.
1.8 Support and assist in identifying professional career development needs of VET teachers and recommend for further studies and appropriate training.
1.9 Assist in conducting in-country Workshops and Seminars, in collaboration with relevant organizations for head office and college staff.
1.10 Incorporate Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Principles and values of Honesty, Integrity, Accountability, Respect, Wisdom and responsibility in programs, activities and initiatives to foster positive work ethics.
2. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
2.1 Qualification:
The minimum entry requirement for this position is a Bachelor degree or higher;
2.1.1 Bachelor’s Degree in Education or VET Education/Teaching.
2.1.2 Post graduate or Master’s degree Education Leadership or relevant is preferable.
2.2 Knowledge:
2.2.1 Sound knowledge of all VET Course Programmes at National and Provincial levels
2.2.2 Goals National and Provincial VET Inspection and their implications.
2.2.3 And of the powers delegated to Provincial Governments and Inspections matters.
2.2.4 Must keep abreast of latest changes in the world of works related to VET.
