1. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.1 Implement all Internal Assessment materials as required per specific subject’s curriculum programs and materials for West New Britain Provincial schools.
1.2 Coordinate all Internal Assessment materials programs by guiding the West New Britain Provincial schools’ teachers in the planning and implementation of the tasks and use of resources.
1.3 Assist in the research and compiling of all draft, trial, and completed Internal Assessment materials for West New Britain Provincial schools.
1.4 Coordinate and facilitate relevant advisory committee meetings and workshops for the development of Internal Assessment materials for West New Britain Provincial schools.
1.5 Coordinate and assist local authorities in the development of Internal Assessment materials per specific subject’s curriculum programs and materials for West New Britain Provincial schools.
1.6 Perform any other duties as directed by the Assistant Secretary for Curriculum & Assessment.
1.7 Coordinate the development of curriculum assessment materials for all subjects at the assigned level of schooling through consultation with the relevant curriculum assessment committees.
1.8 Assist with the overall development of school based assessment policy and initiatives through participating in appropriate meetings, workshops, seminars etc. at the school levels.
1.9 Monitor the implementation of curriculum assessment at the assigned level of schooling by carrying out on-site visits during lesson presentation, in-service for teachers, prepared assessment and evaluation questionnaires for both teachers and students.
1.10 Oversee the development of assessment resources for students and teachers to support the syllabuses used in schools.
1.11 Monitor and trial school based curriculum assessment materials and subsequently revise materials in use by conducting workshops and in-service sessions with all stakeholders.
1.12 Assist and advise Provincial Authorities in the development of curriculum assessment materials at the school and district base.
1.13 Provide advice on suitable assessment methods and weighing for subjects at the assigned level of schooling.
2. QUALIFICATIONS, WORK EXPERIENCES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
2.1 Qualification:
2.1.1 Bachelor Degree in Education, Curriculum Studies, or relevant.
2.1.2 Completion of Post-Graduate in Education or relevant is preferable.
2.2 Work Experience:
2.2.1 Must have minimum 3-5 years’ work experience with the schools systems.
2.2.2 Must have had 4 years’ experience in the curriculum development process as well as having particular subject expertise
2.3 Knowledge:
2.3.1 Must have content knowledge of the education system and its curriculum.
2.3.2 Knowledge about the education system and its functions, policies and its mission towards basic education for the people of PNG.
2.3.3 Have an excellent command of English and one of the major subject areas in curriculum
2.3.4 Sound knowledge of Teaching and Teaching Pedagogies.
2.3.5 Knowledge about the Primary, Secondary, TEVT and FODE education system and its functions, policies and its mission towards basic education for the people of PNG.
2.3.6 Sound Knowledge of Social Issues
2.4 Skills:
2.4.1 Excellent communication and writing skills
2.4.2 Must possess good review and reporting skills
2.4.3 Computer literate
2.4.4 Must have good management and public relation skills
2.4.5 Ability to meet section’s deadlines
